Foreman battered Ellis in the second round. With a dazed expression, Ellis started toward Foreman’s corner when the round ended. His trainer had to get him and lead him back to the correct corner.

Foreman continued to batter Ellis in the third round, and referee Richard Steele stopped the fight at the 1:36 mark. Foreman landed 40 of 49 punches in the third round.

Foreman threw 173 punches and landed 122. Ellis threw 91 punches and landed 26.
