Lesnevich floored Mills twice in the second round and twice again the 10th, before the referee stopped the fight. In between these two rough rounds, Freddie did extremely well. “This (was) one of the greatest fights in the history of British boxing.” (Johnny Sharpe, in The Ring, August 1946, page 21).
